CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

A vacancy has arisen within Assembly and Installation for a Technical Engineer reporting to Philip Spencer A&I Manager.   The role will be based working from the Urenco Capenhurst site and will provide a key contribution to ETC’s activities to support and improve the uranium enrichment plants operated by our customers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Preparation and maintenance/update of process documentation (Work Instructions, Process Flow, Reference List)
• Creation of Task Risk Assessments
• Write/execute manufacturing qualification programmes and manufacturing qualification reports for all site based assembly, installation and refurbishment activities
• Control of X-ray measurements on sites
• Prepare technical specifications and undertake procurement of tooling/equipment
• Act as the Examiner for standard A&I processes and approve A&I Technicians competence certification
• Act as the Assembly Production Management Control System super user for the site, maintaining the effectiveness of the system
• Solving/investigating local production issues (equipment, process, quality, safety)
• Share experience with central A&I Engineering function to develop best practices (safety, quality, productivity etc).
• Undertake local works preparation for assembly, installation, refurbishment and cascade optimisation projects/work packages.
• Perform cascade evaluation activities to support refurbishment planning and effective execution (creation of work plan, activity list and real time assessment of activities to be performed during refurbishment)
• Perform cascade commissioning activities
• Support pre commissioning activities e.g. commissioning planning, customer meetings
• Identify root cause of issues influencing centrifuge/cascade performance, contribute to the formulation of an effective initial response and where appropriate, participate in the identification and coordination of specialist ETC input.
• Perform Cascade performance optimisation analysis to support the customer to implement a variety of improvement solutions.  

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• A good quality degree or equivalent in Physics or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience of working in the nuclear industry is preferred but experience in any large process industry is acceptable
• Experience of working with assembly of precision component assemblies and sub-assemblies
• Experience of analysing processes and data to identify operational improvement opportunities
• Excellent communication, presentation and listening skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent team player with the ability to prioritise and respond flexibly to changing demands.
• Performance driven with excellent organisational skills.
• A ‘hands on’ can do attitude.
• DV Security Clearance is required in order to undertake the role.
