Quality Engineer
Full Time, Capenhurst, Chester
Key Accountabilities
- Developing and implementing quality standards and quality control systems.
- Monitoring and analysing quality performance.
- Inspecting and testing components, equipment, processes and products to ensure quality specifications are met, to a high standard.
- Collaborating with the Assembly and Installation Manager to develop and implement controls and improvements.
- Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with quality and safety regulations.
- Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues.
- Report non-conforming product and identify the root cause.
- Identify and execute solutions for improvements in Safety, Quality, Productivity and Costs.
- Reviewing work instructions, procedures specifications, and processes.
- Support and facilitate, internal, external and supplier audits where required.
- Maintain traceability and calibration records.
- Support the oversight of A&I Technician training and qualification.
- Good time keeping and attendance with flexibility required in order to meet customer needs.
Experience & Qualifications
- A good quality engineering degree or a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience of working in the nuclear industry is preferred but experience in a large process industry is acceptable.
- Able to carry out duties to the highest level of health, safety, security and environmental requirements.
- A logical, structured, analytical and investigative approach to problem solving and root cause analysis.
- You will have professional auditing qualifications or the required quality experience.
- Ability to evaluate data, resulting in corrective and preventative actions.
- Experience of working with measurement equipment and techniques.
- Centrifuge Components experience or previous process knowledge with high precision and fine tolerances.
- A strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and data capture systems.
- Proven experience in trouble-shooting, analytical, strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet the required deadlines.
- DV Security Clearance is required in order to undertake the role.
